Where this came from
afterkard started as a buy-back desk: one WhatsApp number, a list of what we were buying, and a fair price on the same day. People sent photos of what they had, we made an offer, and that was that.
The shop grew out of that. Good cards came through every week — sealed boxes, chase singles, slabs that deserved a better home than a drawer — and they go straight onto the site instead of into a back room.
What we sell
- Sealed product — booster boxes and Elite Trainer Boxes, Pokémon and sports, sold as they came from the manufacturer.
- Singles — chase cards, alt arts, special illustration rares, and the rookies worth owning. Each one photographed and described individually.
- Graded slabs — PSA, BGS and CGC, sealed in their original cases.
Pokémon is where we started and where we're deepest. Soccer and basketball came next — Prizm, Topps Chrome, and the modern rookies that move.
We sell your cards for you now
The desk is still open, but it works the other way round. Instead of buying your cards at a margin and reselling them, we sell them for you and take a commission when they go. You keep the card until it sells, and you keep the bigger half of what it makes.
It is a better deal for anyone who isn't in a hurry, which is most people. Buying outright meant offering well under market so there was room to make anything on the resale — consignment skips that step, so the money that used to be our margin is mostly yours. What it costs you is time: a card sells when a buyer turns up, not the day you hand it over.
How we work
- Photograph everything. What's in the listing photo is the card you get — not a stock image of the same card in better condition.
- Describe it honestly. If a raw single has a soft corner or off-centring, it says so. We'd rather lose a sale than deal with a return.
- Pack it properly. Sleeve, toploader, rigid mailer. Slabs get bubble wrap and a box.
- Answer quickly. One desk, on WhatsApp, usually within hours.
Where to find us
We're based in Singapore and ship across the island. We also turn up at card shows through the year, which is the best way to see stock in hand or bring a collection for an offer on the spot — dates are on the home page.
We write up set releases and market movements over on news, mostly because we're tracking it anyway.
The disclaimer
afterkard is an independent shop. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Panini, Topps, PSA, BGS or CGC.
