This is the agreement itself, published so you can read it before you come in rather than at the counter. The copy you sign is the same wording, with your details and your cards listed on it, and your agreed share written at the top. You keep one copy, we keep one.
Who it's between
afterkard, a brand of TASTE OF 4 PTE. LTD. — referred to below as we or us. Business registration number 202428370D. Registered address: 60 Paya Lebar Road, #06-28 Paya Lebar Square, Singapore 409051.
And you, the consignor — the person who owns the cards. Your name, contact details and payment details go on the signed copy.
1. What it covers
The cards listed in the Schedule on your signed copy, and only those. Cards you bring us later are a separate consignment, with their own Schedule and their own agreed share, which may differ from this one.
We check each card when we receive it and note its condition on the Schedule. If we disagree with how a card has been described, we say so before accepting it, not after.
2. The cards stay yours
You remain the owner of every card until it is sold to a buyer. We hold them as bailee — looking after property belonging to someone else. They are not our stock, we do not treat them as our stock, and they are not available to anyone we owe money to.
Ownership passes directly from you to the buyer at the moment of sale. We never own the card; we take a commission for selling it.
3. What you get paid
When a card sells you receive the percentage of the net sale price written on your signed copy — between 65–75%. We keep the rest as commission. There is no listing fee, no storage fee, and nothing to pay if a card doesn't sell.
The rate is agreed per consignment, before we take the cards in, and does not change during the term. It reflects what the batch is likely to take to sell: what it's worth, how quickly it moves, and how much work it needs.
4. What “net sale price” means
This matters more than the percentage, so it's spelled out.
- It is what the buyer pays for the card itself.
- It excludes delivery charges — those cover postage, not the card.
- It excludes GST or any other tax charged on top of the card price.
- Payment processing fees — card, PayNow, platform — come out of our share, not yours. Your percentage is calculated before they are taken.
So at a 70% share: a card listed at S$200 with S$5 delivery. The buyer pays S$205, the net sale price is S$200, your share is S$140, and the transaction fee is ours to absorb.
5. What we list it at
The listing price for each card is agreed with you and recorded on the Schedule. We won't sell below it without asking you first. If a card isn't moving we may suggest a lower price — you can say no, and it stays listed as agreed until the term ends.
6. How long we keep them
90 days from the date we receive the cards. We contact you at least a week before that runs out, and you choose:
- Take them back — we return anything unsold, with postage or collection at your cost.
- Reprice and continue — new listing prices, fresh 90 days.
- Renew as they are — another 90 days, same prices, same share.
If we can't reach you within 30 days of the term ending, we keep the cards safe and keep trying. We will not sell, dispose of, or take ownership of an unsold card because you didn't reply.
7. When you get paid
Once a month. On the 15th we pay you for everything that sold in the previous calendar month, by PayNow or bank transfer. If the 15th is a weekend or public holiday, it goes the next working day.
Every payment comes with a statement listing each card that sold, what it sold for, your share, and the date. So a card sold on 3 March is paid on 15 April, together with everything else that sold in March.
8. If a buyer returns a card
If a buyer returns a card under our returns policy, or a payment is reversed, the sale is treated as not having happened and the card goes back on sale for the rest of the term.
If we have already paid you for it, we offset that against your next payout rather than asking you to send money back. If no further payout is due, we invoice you.
9. Looking after them, and if something goes wrong
- We store your cards securely, in the condition they arrived in, separately identifiable from our own stock.
- If a card is lost, stolen or damaged while we hold it, we pay you the share you would have received had it sold at the agreed listing price. At a 70% share, a card listed at S$200 pays out S$140.
- That is the limit of what we pay for any one card. We are not liable for what it might have been worth later, or for profit you expected to make.
- We are not liable for a card falling in value while we hold it. Card prices move, and that risk stays with you as the owner.
- Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. What you're promising us
- You own the cards outright, or are authorised to sell them, and nobody else has a claim on them.
- They are genuine as far as you know, and not counterfeit, altered, trimmed or restored unless you've told us.
- Any grading slab is genuine and its certification number belongs to the card inside it.
- You have described their condition honestly.
If a card turns out to be counterfeit or misrepresented we return it to you, and you cover any cost we reasonably incur putting it right with the buyer — a refund, return postage or a platform fee.
11. Grading
We only send a card for grading if you ask us to in writing. Grading is at your cost and your risk, including the risk it comes back lower than hoped, and the 90-day term pauses while the card is away.
12. Ending it early
Either of us can end this by giving 14 days' written notice — a WhatsApp message counts. Cards already sold are still settled under clause 7. Anything unsold comes back to you, at your cost for postage or collection, and we stop accepting orders for it once notice is given.
13. Your details
We use your contact and payment details only to run this consignment and to pay you, and we handle them in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 and our privacy policy. We don't sell your details to anyone.
We deliberately don't ask for your NRIC or FIN. Under the PDPA, collecting NRIC numbers is restricted to situations where the law requires it, and paying a consignor isn't one of them.
14. The rest
- This agreement, with its Schedule, is the whole of what we've agreed about these cards, and replaces anything said beforehand.
- Any change has to be in writing and agreed by both of us.
- If any part of it turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
- It is governed by Singapore law, and the Singapore courts deal with any dispute.
Where this agreement and our terms of sale differ about your consigned cards, this agreement wins.
Ready to start?
Message us on WhatsApp with photos of what you have. We'll tell you what's worth consigning, agree the prices and your share, and print two copies of this with your cards on it. Nothing is committed until both of us have signed. How consignment works covers the same ground in fewer words.
